Dawkins new web presence

After years of a somewhat timid web presence, it seems that Richard Dawkins has finally come out in full force. On RichardDawkins.net you'll find both his spiffy new personal homepage and the website for the recently created Richard Dawkins Foundation for Reason & Science.

The timing is just perfect. I have to say that I was quite surprised — but what a delightful surprise! — that his latest book, The God Delusion, has reached the #1 spot at both amazon.co.uk and amazon.ca, and is now at #2 at the amazon.com. I haven't read the book yet (I am starting Daniel Dennett's Breaking the Spell now), but from the reviews it seems that Dawkins has delivered a lucid, powerful, and engaging case against religious belief. And not a moment too soon either.

Incidentally, Yahoo news is carrying an op-ed by the man himself, titled Why There Almost Certainly Is No God, and which summarises the main arguments from the book. Go ahead and read it; it's well worth it.
