I briefly mentioned The GIMP in my previous post. Yes, its interface is sui generis (a polite way of saying "weird"), it's tough to learn, and has a number of limitations. On the other hand, once you do grok it, it has a special charm and it's actually quite nice to use. Here's something I cooked earlier — what do think of this as a logo?
