Harry Potter and the Deus Ex Machina

I succumbed to reading the last of the Harry Potter books, "Harry Potter and the Deus Ex Machina". But I'll spare you the trouble of going through the 600+ pages yourself; here are the highlights of the book:

  • Voldemort is Harry's father;
  • There is no spoon;
  • Putin dies;
  • Snape is revealed to be a robot. And Hermione is in fact a bloke.
  • Tired of being the eternal sidekick, Ron leaves for Australia. Later on, his flight from Sidney to Los Angeles crashes on a desert island where all sorts of weird stuff that doesn't make any sense is happening. Just like in all the Harry Potter books. Ron feels right at home.
  • The Germans invade Hogwarts, by mistake. Later they apologise, claiming that "it looked a lot like Poland".
  • In an epilogue set 19 years into the future, Harry takes the red pill, thus revealing the true nature of his magic universe. It was all a computer simulation. Did I mention that there was no spoon?
